About Kenya Airways
Founded in 1977, Kenya Airways* is a multi-award-winning airline and Kenya's flagship carrier. Based in the capital of Nairobi, Kenya Airways offers frequent direct flights from the UK to dozens of popular destinations across Africa. Kenya Airlines also operates mid-haul and short-haul routes in Africa.
Kenya Airways boasts a modern fleet of Boeing and Embraer aircraft including the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, designed for a more comfortable in-flight experience with spacious cabins and technology to promote a smoother, quieter ride.
Why fly with Kenya Airways?
When you fly with Kenya Airways, rest assured you'll be in safe hands and greeted by winning smiles as the team running the operation was voted 'Best Airline Staff' and 'Best Cabin Crew' at the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Kenya Airways has also been named Africa's Leading Airline on several occasions at the World Travel Awards, so if you're planning a trip to the continent, the trophies speak for themselves.
In addition to a track record of delivering top-quality customer service, there are some perks to flying with Kenya Airways. As the only African airline to be a member of the SkyTeam Alliance alongside Delta Airlines, KLM and Virgin Atlantic, Kenya Airways can connect you to more than 1,000 destinations worldwide with the help of its partners.
What's more, air miles earned with Kenya Airways can be redeemed with any SkyTeam Alliance member and vice versa.
Cabin classes
Enjoy the ultimate flexibility with Kenya Airways' range of economy class options or fly in style with its award-winning business class service.
Economy
Kenya Airways' cheapest fare includes complimentary food and drinks and in-flight entertainment as standard on all long-haul flights. Every passenger in Economy* can also take the opportunity to bag some luxury for less with duty-free shopping on board.
Economy Max
All of the perks of Economy plus the option pay for the seat next to, or in front of, you to score more space without breaking the bank with Economy Max*.
Economy Comfort
Situated at the front of the cabin, Economy Comfort* is essentially Kenya Airways' version of Premium Economy. The main difference is the amount of space you get; these seats provide extra legroom and two armrests. You might be lucky and allocated these seats for free or you can pay to book one and guarantee that extra bit of wriggle room.
Business
Kenya Airlines' award-winning Business* class service boasts a range of perks, from priority check-in and airport lounge access to spacious recliner seats on board and a wide selection of African-inspired meals, snacks and drinks.
Baggage allowance
The baggage allowances below apply to flights between Europe/USA and Africa. To find out how much luggage you can take on board if you're flying domestically or from Nairobi to Asia, check Kenya Airlines' website.
Economy, Economy Max & Economy Comfort
Economy passengers are entitled to two checked bags weighing up to 23 kg each (combined total of 46 kg). For most flights, passengers may take one piece of hand luggage (max 55 x 25 x 35 cm) and one smaller personal accessory such as a handbag, laptop or camera with a combined maximum weight of 12 kg†.
† - If flying on an Embraer 145 aircraft, Economy passengers may take only one piece of hand luggage weighing a maximum of 8 kg and not exceeding the dimensions of 40 x 15 x 30 cm.

FAQs
Which currency can I use to pay for my flight?
Kenya Airways* prices are automatically displayed based on the country you are booking from; e.g. if you're booking from the UK, you will be charged in GBP. Note - if you're paying in a different currency from your card, you may be charged a foreign transaction fee by your bank.
Do I need to reconfirm my flight with Kenya Airways?
No. If your booking was successful and you received your booking confirmation, you do not need to contact Kenya Airways* to reconfirm your flight. Simply check-in online or at the airport when it's time.
How can I get upgraded to business class?
Economy passengers who have a valid ticket for a Kenya Airways-operated flight* can be in with a chance of upgrading to Business class for less by submitting a bid of any chosen amount.
The bid can be made free of charge on Kenya Airways' website. You will receive an email 12 hours before departure confirming whether or not your offer has been accepted.
Note - this doesn't guarantee you an upgrade to business class. To do that, you will need to purchase a Business class ticket.
