Designed by the Marks Barfield Architects, the London Eye opened on 31 of December 1999, welcoming in the new millennium. The award-winning attraction has 32 pods, which represent the 32 boroughs of London.
Each pod has seats and air conditioning for added comfort; you can also get your picture taken at the top of the pod to remember your ride. Purchase a souvenir package*, which includes two photos, a magnet, a digital photo and a keyring.

It is very easy to travel to the London Eye by public transport. Waterloo tube station, served by Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern and Waterloo & City lines, is just five-to-10 minutes' walk away.
Waterloo and Waterloo East railway stations are less than a 10-minute walk from the London Eye with trains running to/from the south and southwest of England.
The London bus network offers multiple routes running close to the London Eye. Check bus routes via Transport for London.
If you're travelling by coach, please note that you only have 15 minutes to drop off and pick up at the coach parking bays as they are not permitted for long-term use.
