French Guiana is a small country in South America bordering Brazil and Suriname, with an Atlantic coastline at its northern edge. It consists largely of lowland plains with small hills to the south, and has an equatorial rainforest interior. Expect a climate of Turkish bath-style sultriness throughout the year, though conditions are at their most steamy during the rainy season, which stretches from December to mid-July.
