Montserrat weather overview
Devastated by a dramatic volcanic eruption in 1995, Montserrat, sadly, has lost its former status as one of the Leeward Islands' lushest and prettiest hideaways. Prone to rain throughout the year, Montserrat receives its heaviest downpours between July and November, when tropical storms and hurricanes are most likely to hit. But rain, when it comes, arrives in sharp bursts often interspersed with brilliant sunshine.
Despite its misfortunes, with the whole of the south of the island now in an exclusion zone, this island has retained a delightful climate - mainly hot and sunny throughout the year, with humidity mitigated by fresh sea breezes.
What to pack for Montserrat weather
Take light clothing with warmer cover-ups for the occasional chilly winter evening, and be prepared for rain at any time of the year.
