Namibia weather overview
This land contains a big chunk of the Kalahari Desert, which gives its interior a hot, sunny climate. On the coast, however, it's a different story. Cold sea currents keep temperatures cool and generate plenty of low cloud and fog but almost no rain at any time of year.
Inland, rain is sparse, falling between November and April when temperatures are highest. Much of the country's interior is high plateau and this makes night temperatures cool. May to September are the winter months in Namibia when conditions can become cold.
What to pack for Namibia weather
Take warm clothing if you are travelling between May and September. Even in the hot months, warm attire is recommended for protection against chilly evenings.
