Etihad Airways to double Manchester to Abu Dhabi route

This week, national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways^*, has announced that from December 2024 it will double its year-round route between Manchester^* and Abu Dhabi^*, increasing the frequency to twice daily.

Manchester is one of a number of European airports that will gain added capacity from 2025.

In addition, the route between Paris and Abu Dhabi will gain a second daily flight from January 2025, while by July 2025, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Rome and Zurich will all be served by twice-daily flights.

The route to Dublin^* will increase from seven times per week to 10 times per week. All of the above routes are now available to book.

Etihad is also planning to add Warsaw and Prague to its network.

Etihad Airways marks 20 years flying to London Heathrow

Etihad Airways celebrated two decades of transporting travellers from London Heathrow to the capital of the UAE^*.

The multi-award-winning airline has carried more than 10 million passengers between the UK and Abu Dhabi^*, with many venturing on to Dubai^* or further around the world, since its first flight landed in March 2004.

It launched the service to London from Abu Dhabi with three flights per week and today, operates four flights daily onboard both Airbus A380s and Boeing's 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Jeremy Pollock, Etihad Airways Country Manager UK and Ireland, said: "Introducing flights from London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi was a key part of the airline's strategy following the carrier's launch in 2003.

"To celebrate 20 years since our inaugural flight is a fantastic achievement for everyone connected with Etihad Airways, especially our dedicated workforce across the UK and Ireland."
