Visit Portugal launches TASCA to showcase country's gastronomy

The teams at both Visit Portugal and Taste Portugal have created a brand new platform, TASCA, to showcase the very best of Portuguese cuisine from recipes to restaurants.

TASCA (the word for a Portuguese restaurant) aims to share practical tips on where to dine as well as tips for cooking, recipes and ingredients. It also aims to highlight the country's gastronomy as a way to truly experience Portuguese culture.

The website aims to showcase the best dishes, be they classics or creative modern twists, and help users in Spain, France, Germany, the UK and the USA to find the best places to sample Portuguese cuisine on their doorstep.

The Secretary General of AHRESP (Portuguese Association for Hotels and Restaurants), Ana Jacinto, said: "Portuguese gastronomy has become more visible at an international level, with a growing number of awards received by restaurants.

"This initiative that we are now launching capitalises on that recognition and complements it with what is the national soul, the unique flavours that distinguish our gastronomy, bringing that experience of Portuguese restaurants to the most sophisticated international markets.

"We hope in this way to contribute to a greater interest in the experience of national gastronomy, broadening the profile of traditional visitors to our country."
