Things to do in Tenerife in June 2025

One of the biggest events in Tenerife in June has its roots in religion. While Corpus Christi is observed across the island, it's in La Orotava where volcanic sand is transported from the Teide National Park to fashion a sand tapestry, which dominates the town square. Worshippers are allowed to put their foot (indeed feet) in it as they progress across these decorative street carpets.

For a rather more energetic workout than a tapestry-destroying stroll, sign up for the Tenerife Bluetrail. This trail run is a trial by ascent, especially if you register for the 97 km Ultra Race. The pace is far more chilled at the freebie Semana Internacional de Jazz Ciudad de La Laguna. La Laguna's International Jazz Week usually exceeds seven days however.

The Fiestas de San Juan at the end of the month are one of Spain's most popular parties as residents partake of a night swim and then warm up with beach bonfires on the likes of Puerto de la Cruz's Playa Jardín. Take a tip from the natives by bringing your own food and drink to the festivities, although remember to take your rubbish with you.
